Shortly after the release of the Hyacinth V2 switches, Sillyworks developed a new version. As expected, they did not call it V3. Instead, the V2U model was developed, as seen here. There is a story behind the V2U. When they started designing the Hyacinth V2 switches, fans wanted the new Hyacinth switches to have a longer travel distance and be fully purple. However, due to some production reasons at that time, Silly decided to make the V2 version a linear switch with a travel distance of 3.6mm and retained the green stem from the Hyacinth V1s. After extensive work and fine-tuning in the design with HMX, they developed a series of molds to achieve Hyacinth switches with almost full travel distance.
